Based in Brighton, England, Jade Golding founded Little Deer in 2009 while studying design and photography at university. She set about buying and reselling vintage clothing and jewelry but struggled to find alternatives to the standard-issue silver and black steel rails to display her wares at shows and in product photos. When her dad helped her make a rail out of industrial copper piping, Golding offered the model for sale on her website—and its overwhelmingly positive response led Golding to shift her company’s focus to making and selling handmade storage and organization furniture in copper, iron, and wood.

Above: Little Deer’s Copper Pipe Ladder can be used as a closet accessory for clothing or bags, in the bathroom for towels, or in the living room for blankets or magazines. It’s made of thick industrial copper piping on the sides and slightly thinner piping in between. It’s 61 inches tall and 14 inches wide and available in a polished or unpolished version starting at £95. Little Deer designs are made by a team of three people in the company’s Brighton workshop.
Above: The Copper Pipe A-Frame Clothing Rail is available in 40- and 47-inch lengths and can hold a board or wide baskets along the bottom rails for extra storage. It starts at £175 for the 40-inch, unpolished copper version. Since each item is made to order, allow one to two weeks for delivery (but rush orders can be accommodated).
Above: The Copper Pipe Hanging Clothing Rail hangs from a thick ivory rope that can be mounted on the wall or ceiling or tied to an exposed beam or pipe. It has two bars to hold clothes and is about 35 inches tall by 31 inches wide, with a rope drop of 40 inches; £85. True to its original purpose, Little Deer designs (and custom solutions) are available for retail clients who need display furniture for their online or brick-and-mortar stores.
Above: Little Deer offers two options for copper finishing: Its polished copper is sanded, polished, and painted with an anti-tarnish coating, and sometimes comes with a small upcharge for the service. (All product photos shown here are polished.) The raw copper version is neither polished nor coated, and will oxidize over time (as shown). Above: The company’s Copper Clothes Hangers are made of steel with copper coating. They’re strong enough to hold heavy coats but have a slim profile. A set of six is £15.50. US shipping is available, starting at £4 for small items.
Above: The Black Iron Pole Rail can be used as an entryway coat rack, bathroom towel bar, or kitchen utensil rail. It’s made from industrial iron, treated to prevent rusting. Available in four lengths ranging from about 25 inches to about 50 inches, the rail comes with four S-hooks in brass or black and black screws for wall installation. It starts at £38 for the 25-inch version. In addition to clothing racks and storage rails, Little Deer offers decorative objects such as planters and vases, plus furniture including tables and chairs.
Above: The Oak and Brass Pole Rail has two brass mounts holding a handmade, solid oak rod. It comes with four brass S-hooks and brass screws for wall installation, and is available in approximately 20-inch, 30-inch, and 40-inch lengths, starting at £30. Above: The brand’s Birch Plywood Pegboard comes with wall mounts plus two medium shelves (not shown; they extend across three peg holes), one large shelf (shown, which extends across four peg holes), and 10 pegs. (Extra shelves and pegs are available for purchase.) It is finished with a light wax and is about 35 inches tall by 20 inches wide; £145. For more organization solutions from across our sites, see:
