Margot recently stopped by her local Staples store and was surprised to discover so many great-looking office supplies. “I love browsing in foreign stationery stores and, to my amazement, Staples is starting to have some of that appeal,” she wrote to tell me. “There’s much more to be found on closer examination than I had expected—things like washi tape and Moleskin notebooks. Oh, and Staples now sells the Swedish brand Bigso, which we’ve featured in Remodelista: The Organized Home book!”
I was skeptical. The last time I was in the store, the only thing I saw was red as I waited for nearly an hour in a back-to-school line of fellow moms and their patience-challenged kids. But after perusing the website, I have to concur. Staples is, indeed, stocked with some unexpectedly attractive items. Here, some favorites:
Above: We’re fans of Swedish brand Bigso’s storage boxes and are thrilled that Staples now carries them (incidentally, they’re also available at the Container Store). Its Viktoria Magazine Holder (in navy) and Oskar Letter Box (in gray) are each $23.99. Above: Moleskin’s Cahier Journals feature 80 pages of ruled paper as well as an interior pocket; $11.69 for 3.Above: Gift Tags by Jam Paper ($8.59 for 6)and Manila Shipping Tags ($22.49 for 1,000) make pretty labels for any organizational project.Above: Staples stocks an array of Washi Tape, great for labeling your pantry and spice jars; from $3.19.
