The theme is “Apartment Living” over on sister site Remodelista this week. We thought we’d play along. Here, 10 storage and organization finds from Food52 that fit small spaces but think big:
Above: We are longtime fans of the grid organizer. See our posts here and here about the trend that’s giving the pegboard a run for its money. Yamazaki Home’s Stovetop Grid Organizer Panel is a super example. It can stand on a surface or mount to the wall, and it’s an ideal organizational tool for both the entry and the kitchen; from $62. Above: Magnetic knife racks can be used to store anything metallic, not just knives (see Aha! Hack: A New Purpose for the Magnetic Knife Rack). Peg & Awl’s Milk Paint Maple Brass Knife Grabber is available in two sizes; from $150. For more of our favorite, see 8 Wall-Mounted Magnetic Wood Knife Racks. Above: The key to a tidy, uncluttered small kitchen: keeping as much as possible off the counters. Sir/Madam’s Fluted Wall Utensil Crock helps you achieve this goal; $90. Above: Most apartment kitchens lack sufficient cabinet storage, which makes a pot rack an absolute necessity. Lostine’s American Made Iron Pot Rack, available in three sizes (24 to 48 inches), is a super-chic option; from $155. (Hooks sold separately.) Above: Need to keep some items out on the counter? Yamazaki Home’s Steel and Wood Kitchen Storage Rack allows for multi-level storage; $30. (You can also use it inside a cabinet.)
Above: In a small space, multi-functional items are your best friends. This Compact Modular Dish Rack from Rig Tig is a two-in-one product—a combo drying rack and wash bin; $58. (Go here to see Food52’s best-selling dish rack ever.) Above: Sir/Madam’s handsome Toleware Organizer is suitable in the entryway (for mail), home office (for paperwork), or kitchen (for recipes or menus); $60. (Intrigued by wall-mounted file holders? See Secret Weapon: A Doctor’s Office Staple to Conquer Your Paper Pile.) Above: It doesn’t get more minimalist than this. Yamazaki Home’s wonderfully streamlined Steel Wood Minimal Leaning Rack handily adds hanging storage to any room; available in black and white for $34. Above: It’s slim but tall, capable of holding more laundry that you think. The Narrow Elevated Laundry Basket by Canvas Steele measures 18 by 12 by 35 inches; $112. Above: We sure do love a good canvas organizer (see 10 Easy Pieces: Hanging Canvas Wall Organizers for some favorites), and this one from the Floral Society is the best example we’ve seen. Its Canvas Wall Organizer has 23 pockets; $136.
