Noki: A Shelving System Inspired by Japanese Architecture

Noting now: a modular shelving system designed by Keiji Ashizawa for Poland-based Tamo Design called Noki. The story behind the name? “A Japanese term for the eaves and rafters of a traditional Japanese building.”

Above: “We brainstormed to find out the best solution for a small shelving unit that is flat-pack and yet with a sense of luxury,” Keiji told Tamo Design. “This Noki shelving unit is inspired by noki’s structure to provide a functional display and storage space in a small room.” The Noki Two Modules starts at 4,450 PLN ($1025.74 USD) and the Noki Four Modules (shown) starts at 8,850 PLN ($2039.95 USD).
