New at Zara Home: An Affordable French-Inspired Kitchen Wares Line by Mimi Thorisson
If you, like me, have ever wanted to be Mimi Thorisson—the writer and cook who lives in a rambling nineteenth-century farmhouse in the Médoc region of France, picks plums and tomatoes from her lush backyard garden, cooks bountiful feasts with them, and always looks beautiful doing it—you’re in luck. Thanks to a newly launched kitchen collection by Zara Home, you can now order a few of the French-esque kitchen essentials Thorisson herself might use (and does, in the brand’s photo shoot in her country kitchen). And at a reasonable price: The most expensive item, a cast iron pot, rings in at $149; a set of four steak knives costs only $29.90.
Here are a few of the new releases we’re eyeing (and hope to get for our own kitchens).
Above L: Two Terracotta Oven Casserole Dishes (from $25.90 for the small size) are safe for dishwasher, freezer, and oven; coming soon. Above R: The Steak Knives, made for Zara Home in collaboration with nearly 300-year-old Spanish knife company Arcos, in black.Above L: The matte, cast-iron Berghoff Cast Iron Pot ($149) has an enameled interior (and won the maker, Berghoff, a Red Dot prize). Above R: A set of four Overlock Muslin Cloths is $17.90.Above L: The Berghoff Cast Iron Saucepan has a thin black rim. Above R: A sharp Mini Colander in lacquered black ($14.90)
