Living in a small Brooklyn apartment, we don’t have the space for a vacuum. It’s one of the reasons we hire a cleaning service rather than doing it ourselves, for the vacuum and mop and bucket that they bring over.

Last week I needed a quick vacuum before hosting dinner so i had to borrow one from a friend. Carting the vacuum with its hose and all the attachments down the street while people stared, I realized: I need a vacuum fit for a small space. So I’ve started on the hunt and here’s what I turned up.
