When tasked with designing his own home, architect Robert Garneau of Studio Garneau jumped at the chance to employ a number of unique space-saving storage solutions. Come with us on a tour of his 650-square-foot studio in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City.

A view of the loft with "sliding walls" pulled back.

Every opportunity for storage has been used.

The kitchen table was designed to have 3 adjustable heights.

Storage niches were built into the shower.

The kitchen table adjusted to the "Kitchen Island" height.

A Murphy bed pulls down to reveal a niche lined in walnut veneer.

Nightstands have been built into the headboard niche.

When the Murphy bed is stored away and the sliding wall is pulled back, the living room feels positively airy.
