One of our favorite humble but clever designs from the duo behind Netherlands-based design studio Woodchuck? A built-in wooden pocket that runs along the back edge of their kitchen counter.
The couple uses the slim trough to store plates, cutting boards, and, near the sink, soaps and cleaning products—a catchall for the kitchen counter. Take a look:
Having a ledge on the countertop to hold things means the couple can make do with just one wall shelf.
Behind the sink, the built-in pocket corrals cleaning products and soaps.
The couple design and build kitchens for clients as well., like this in-progress design with their signature plate pocket.
